Advanced Technology for Safe, Effective Treatments

I believe your results are only as good as the technology behind them, that’s why I invested in the Skyncare Biocare-one, a leading multi-platform medical-grade aesthetic system trusted by professionals across the UK.

This powerful device combines IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and Q-Switched ND:YAG technologies, allowing me to safely and effectively treat a wide range of concerns with precision, flexibility, and client comfort in mind.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)

The IPL handpiece on the Biocare-one is designed for hair removal, skin rejuvenation, and skin therapies such as acne, pigmentation and vascular treatments.

It uses broad-spectrum light to target pigment in hair follicles or skin, delivering effective results with minimal downtime.

IPL is ideal for:

  • Long-term hair reduction

  • Rosacea and facial redness

  • Broken capillaries

  • Pigmentation (freckles, sun spots etc)

  • Skin texture and tone improvement

  • Skin rejuvenation & Collagen Stimulation

Thanks to the Skyncare system’s advanced cooling and adjustable settings, treatments are not only effective but also comfortable and tailored to your unique skin type and concerns.

Q-Switched ND:YAG

The Q-Switched ND:YAG is renowned for its ability to remove tattoos and SPMU, treat pigmentation, sun damage, and uneven skin tone, as well as deliver carbon facials (also known as the "Hollywood Peel").

It works by delivering short bursts of high-intensity laser energy that break down pigmentation in the skin or target impurities in the pores, without damaging surrounding tissue.

Common uses include:

Tattoo Removal

SPMU Removal

Pigmentation and sun spots

Melasma management

Fungal Nail Treatment

Carbon facial for instant brightness and refinement

what's the difference between IPL & Laser Hair Removal?

This is one of the most common questions I get, and it’s a great one! While IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and laser hair removal are often talked about interchangeably, they’re actually two different technologies that work in slightly different ways to reduce unwanted hair.

Light Technology

  • IPL uses broad-spectrum light that targets the pigment in hair follicles. It’s incredibly versatile and can cover larger areas of skin quickly, making it ideal for full-body treatments.

  • Laser hair removal uses a single, concentrated wavelength of light to focus more narrowly on each hair follicle.

Both methods work by delivering heat to the hair root to disrupt future growth and both deliver long-lasting results.

Is One Better Than the Other?

Despite what you might read online, both IPL and laser are highly effective technologies when used correctly for your skin, hair type, and personal preferences. IPL and laser both offer excellent results when performed by a trained professional using high-quality equipment. With the Skyncare Biocare-one system, I’m able to customise your IPL treatments to suit your specific skin tone and hair colour for safe, comfortable, and noticeable results.

Why I Use IPL

I’ve chosen IPL because it’s versatile, clinically proven, and highly effective across multiple skin and hair types*. It also allows me to treat other skin concerns - like pigmentation and redness, alongside hair removal, giving you even more value from each session.

Plus, IPL technology today is more advanced than ever, offering fantastic results with minimal downtime and maximum comfort.

*I currently treat skin types I–IV on the Fitzpatrick scale. Unfortunately, IPL isn’t safe for skin types V & VI due to the higher melanin content, which increases the risk of burns or pigmentation changes. Your safety will always come first.

Why Skyncare?

Still not sure?

That’s okay! You don’t need to know all the science - that's my job!

I’ll guide you through it during your consultation and recommend what’s best for your skin. My goal is always the same: to give you all the information you need to help make the right decision for you.
